Quaint and cozy atmosphere, delicious food at fair prices, decent portions, very friendly service

Food is delicious .. but side dishes for the dish for € 6.50 !? Definitely too expensive .. We will stay away in the future .. High price level not justified ..

Good restaurant with a good menu. The prices are high but reasonable.

Very nice ambience inside as well as outside. Particularly beautiful outdoors with a view of the monastery. All of our dishes (5 people) were freshly prepared and very tasty. Exquisite wine list. Price level slightly raised. Very attentive and friendly staff.

We were there on a mild summer evening. The ambience with a view of the monastery is fantastic. However, the service was not what you find professional. The ordered wine had run out - the waitress simply brings a wine of their choice without asking - that doesn't work! In addition, the wine was not at the right temperature. The different pizzas that were ordered around the table all looked the same - in other words, they were more or less the same and did not correspond to the information on the menu. The taste of the food was okay. The drinks are all too warm. In our opinion, the prices, which are at the upper end, do not match the claim. That seems to be the tourist surcharge - for us locals there are better "alternative options".

Super friendly and courteous service. Great selection of coffee and cakes that change daily. The food also invites you to linger. From the beer garden you have a beautiful view of the monastery, which makes everything look even more harmonious.

We were here in the beer garden in a historical setting after visiting a monastery. Very good food and very good monastery beer! The staff is very friendly and incredibly quick. We were also impressed by the thoroughness in implementing the hygiene regulations during the corona pandemic. Highly Recommended!

Very nice ambience in historical surroundings in Maulbronn. There is a good selection of food, excellent service and an acceptable price-performance level. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to look at the entire site. The next time I visit, I will bring some more time with me. A visit is suitable for business and private purposes.

Great service, great italian food and pizzas. Large wine selection. Offers the two monastery beers as well. Kid friendly.

Wonderful experience overall. Perfect setting near the monastery, food and service were great. The pastries were fantastic. Best rhubarb pie I've ever had.

Food and service was great

The restaurant Klosterkatz is located in the inner courtyard of the beautiful Maulbronn Monastery. There is a large selection of salads, various pizzas, pasta and meat dishes. We had pizza bread with anchovies, the large Klosterkatz salad, and the rump steak with side salad and herb butter. All in all, we were quite satisfied, yet we would have liked a beef fillet, which was stated on the menu online, but not on the on-site menu.

Excellent food

I love coming to this place when I am in Maulbronn. Excellent, Italian inspired kitchen with German additions, delicious cakes and very good coffee!

The only time we ate in a restaurant, which we did not select from Tripadvisor before and directly a disappointment. I ordered fish in white wine sauce there. The fish tasted as if it was drowned in white whitefish. The whole dish was way too salty and absolutely disappointing. Even my companion was disappointed with her food. So the restaurant could only score with the atmosphere. Too bad.

Excelent Italian food and high quality products. Professional and friendly staff. And the setting can't be more charming. I really recommend it.

Lasagna was amazing. Very friendly staff. Small menu but food is too good. Wish I lived here, would eat here daily!

They have a range of Italian and german dishes. And a big price range as well. You can come in with 2 and share a pizza and leave spending 10€ or you can spend 20€ a person on a great full dinner. Kitchen id closed after lunch but you can still get drinks. I personally love the presentation of their teas. I have not had anything but great experiences there. They have menus in German and English. Come in the morning for coffee outside in the Monastery! They also have rooms for rent upstairs. Surprisingly i dont have any pictures though.

The food was very, very tasty, if a little expensive. But at least justified for the good quality. The ambience is very cozy and pretty and very nicely embedded in the monastery complex. The cakes, however, were dry and not really tasty, and the coffee with milk was so lukewarm that I would rather have described it as cold. Therefore a star deduction.

Staff very unfriendly especially when you are with kids ...
